The Dolomites Unesco World Heritage in San Cassiano, Alta Badia
From the Hotel Cime Bianche you can reach the center of San Cassiano with a 5-minute walk. The center itself is embellished by a pedestrian area with various bars, shops and restaurants. The Museum Ladin Ursus Ladinicus is located here as well and shows the remains and history of the cave bear which inhabited the Dolomites 30.000 years ago. The remains of the prehistoric animal were found right here in San Cassiano, in a cave of the Conturines.
San Cassiano and Alta Badia are renowned for the natural beauty of the landscapes in which they are nestled. In the north the Dolomites of Conturines and Lavarela tower over the village, while the plateaus of Pralongià and Piz Sorega stretch out to the south, offering infinite landscapes for countless trekking, hiking and bike trails. The natural park of Fanes Sennes Braies is part of the Dolomites Unesco World Heritage area. It is a unique spot in South Tyrol for ist vast breathtaking panoramas and the particular variety of flora and fauna inhabiting them. All these wonderful locations can be accessed easily from the Hotel Cime Bianche. In fact most of the trails begin directly from the town of San Cassiano.
